Owner's Comments:
The higher values of this issue, particularly the 24c and 30c values, are a minefield. It is estimated that up to 75 percent of used 24c values in existence have forged grills. Hardly surprising when one considers the difference in value grilled-ungrilled. The true stamp should have washed out looking colour, and whereas too many grill points can indicate a forgery, too few and it does not exist at all. PF has the historical burden of having authenticated the vast majority. PSE have had the disagreeable task of overturning some of those earlier decisions. This has been interpreted by the anti PSE lobby as a deliberate anti PF strategy. Of course that is nonsense. Grills, as with other difficult issues, will be farmed out by PSE to outside experts, sometimes the very same as used by the PF. It is they that are overturning previous and dubious decisions. My answer? Get good certs from both PSE and the PF.
