Siegel Auction Galleries will auction The Natalee Grace Collection of Used United States Stamps in 2012, in a series of three auctions starting on June 7

The Natalee Grace collection is one of the most important U.S. Collections ever formed. It includes important printing and paper varieties, color shades, inverts, double impressions, stamps printed on both sides, rare grill varieties and booklet panes. In each of these areas the Natalee Grace collection has achieved a level of completeness surpassing that of any other previous or existing collection of used United States stamps.

The collection contains a large number of "highest grade" examples with current P.S.E. certificates, such as:

  • The earliest perforated stamp graded Gem 100 – Scott 30A
  • The only perforated used stamp before the 1873 Bank Note Issue graded Gem 100 Jumbo – Scott 68
  • Three of the five used Scott numbers in the Bank Note Issues graded Gem 100 Jumbo – Scott 184, 189 and 216
  • Rare graded varieties, such as the 4c Columbian error of color (Scott 233a) graded VF-XF 85 Jumbo – the finest of the twelve copies known and the only sound and centered copy in existence
  • 20th Century issues, such as used coil guide line pairs and rotary press waste issues such as Scott 594 graded VF-XF 85 (the highest grade awarded to date)
The collection will be sold in a series of three auctions, starting June 7, 2012. Part One covers the period from 1847 through 1868. Of the 179 lots in the first sale (including varieties such as printed on both sides), 56 have graded certificates from P.S.E.
