Welcome to the first of a regular (hopefully) series of short notes showcasing some of the interesting items that are coming through our doors here at PSE. Not necessarily just the expensive items will be featured here, although some will have a big catalog value, I hope to show rare items as well as items that have other stories to tell.

The first item I have chosen for this feature is the item named above and pictured below – a modern (somewhat) rarity.

The 2011 Scott Specialized Catalogue of United States Stamps & Covers values a single stamp at $3,500.00 and does not mention its existence in a plate block. This is the kind of item that can lay unnoticed in a collection and is ripe for discovery as this one did.
